This guy is one 100 percent one of my favourite artists in the U.K urban scene and to be honest I feel he could be so much bigger if people stopped sleeping on him. For me Geko makes music which is actually musical as opposed to speaking flows or spitting bars on instrumentals. And with his recent tribulations which were aired publicly by himself last year his drive and talent just can’t be ignored in my eyes. With the recent unfortunate and untimely death of his younger brother you wouldn’t blame Geko for ghosting from the scene for a hot minute, but instead of doing so he continues to do what he does best and channel his energies into his art.
I’m absolutely loving this new track from him entitled ‘Likes That’, bringing that Old school RnB / House Party Vibe back on to the airwaves, this track is quite different from what we usually see Geko making. Self admittedly he just tweeted that he wasn’t sure if people would like it, but still forced himself to do something different, and so far the support has been mad. His Twitter is popping off with tweets from fans and non fans that are appreciating his wave on this one.
Everything just bangs for me, the video suits the track to a tee, set on a golf course with a spicey looking chick playing golf, there is a comical theme throughout with Geko showing us more of his personality as well as his musical abilities. Vibzing with a puppet in a bedroom, chilling with his boys, a house party and a news report are all cleverly incorporated into one video, the visuals are a lot.
Coming strong for the first week of 2018… It is so refreshing to see something different to the usual U.K trend in music everyone is jumping on at the moment… this one is saucy !
