‘Gone’ is the debut single from talented music producer, songwriter and contemporary RnB artist 169 ! Industry recognised, 169 is the man responsible for his collaborative production behind Dave’s breakthrough EP ‘Six Paths’ which ‘Wanna Know’ one of the tracks on the EP, went on to be remixed by Drake, peaking at an impressive 45 million streams on Spotify.
After taking the back seat and producing and co-writing for the likes of Dave, Stormzy (for track ‘Bad Boys’ which is on his ‘Gang Signs And Prayer Album’) and Craig David to name a few, 169 has dropped visuals to his absolute banger ‘Gone’ which premiered on DJ Target’s show on BBC 1xtra last Thursday, and truthfully speaking….. it’s a banger.
Personally I’m a big fan of sing rapping when it’s done correctly, alongside dropping icy and relatable lyrics this song is a collectively mellow wave.
Visually the shots sit well with the theme of the track, which denotes twisted violin strings, dirty bass and dainty piano pads. Nothing flamboyant is needed as it does well without the need for any extravaganza, just 169 on the road holding a vibe as you do. Video Director Terry Paul adds ‘ The video captures the overall sonics of the song, dark, nocturnal and moody.”
