The protestors gathered in the city’s main square to make their point about the cruelty of the event.
The Running of the Bulls, also known as the Pamplona bull run or Pamplona encierro, has been taking place in the northern Spanish city for around 30 years.
It marks the beginning of the San Fermin festival, which takes place annually between 6th and 14th July.
The protest was organised by animal rights charity PETA and Spanish group AnimaNaturalis.
