Talking BAYLOR WILSON

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

After a life-changing and gruelling experience on CBS'S hit TV show Survivor, Baylor Wilson has just released her debut country single, Everybody Get Up!

The 20-year-old singer, who was born Colorado but grew up in Texas, has teamed up with her mother Missy on a cross-country tour #JustShowUp.

Baylor recently took some time out to chat with Music News about songwriting and her biggest challenge on Survivor.

Music News - You finished in 5th place on the latest season of CBS's hit reality series Survivor. What can you tell me about your experience on the show?

My experience on the show was one that no one will ever truly understand or be able to grasp (except those other players who have played the game). It was the best and worst experience of my entire life up to now. I was challenged in ways I didn't know I could be challenged. I lost 20 pounds. I ate a handful of rice every day. The experience was incomparable to anything I've ever done.

Music News - Looking back, what was your biggest challenge on Survivor?

My biggest challenge was definitely the people on my tribe. The men more specifically were all degrading and belligerent, which made it tough to play the game with them.

Music News - You have just released your debut country single, Everybody Get Up! What is the song about?

Everybody Get Up is about standing up and going for it - whatever "it" might be for you. Chasing dreams has always been a lifestyle for me...and I wrote this song to encourage that everybody could go after what they want, they just have to get up and go do it!

Music News - Where do you draw inspiration from when you write songs and what’s your favorite part about the process?

I draw inspiration from conversations with friends, movies, titles of books, relationships, etc. My favorite part is definitely when I finish the song and can't stop listening to it in my car... I am still fascinated with the idea of creating words, rhymes, and stories and people being able to sing along to what I can create. It's awesome.

Music News - understand that you are going on a cross-country #JustShowUp tour with your mother Missy. Can you tell me a little more about that?

The #JustShowUp tour is such an awesome thing. Basically my mom and I have picked winners and we show up to their houses and surprise them. These people are huge survivor fans and usually have no idea we're coming!

Music News - If you could perform with anyone, either living or passed, who would it be?

Definitely Sheryl Crow.

Music News - What embarrassing songs might I find on your IPod?

I'm still totally into Justin Bieber but the more embarrassing songs might be Aaron Carter's.

Music News - Anything you would like to share, from upcoming shows to albums?

I am playing quite a bit in Nashville lately! The show dates are all on my website. And the next album is still in the works. I'm in the creating/writing process, which is exciting :)
