Birmingham based drill artist Smuggzy Ace has been making waves this year as one of the emerging acts to follow from The Midlands. Given the views he has been racking up on various platforms, it was only a matter of time before the driller would put out a full project. Just yesterday, he has released Shhmokey; an eight track EP that shows his penchant for bass boosted beats and tongue-in cheek lyrics that typify the UK Drill genre. “Just Do It” is one of the highlights off of the EP, a bouncy track that employs wordplay around Nike and it’s world famous ‘just do it’ slogan.
Following the release of Shhmokey, Smuggzy Ace has also dropped the visuals to “Just Do It”. Directed by Matthew MKD, we see various scenes of the 23 Drillers member with his team decked out in Nike attire as they post up outside JD Sports. Seeing all the checks and Nike branding brings his lyrics to life with lines such as “doing 10 toes in my Nike Air” and “with the blade I swoosh, I swoosh”, which makes it slightly different to the average drill music video.
Check out the video for “Just Do It” above and look out for more visuals from his EP.
