After delivering the powerful protest song "People" late last year, Little Scream's Laurel Sprengelmeyer has now turned her attention back to her most recent LP Cult Following.

She's given album cut "Silent Moon" the video treatment, taking inspiration from an unlikely source.

"I started writing the song 'Silent Moon' while in Hong Kong working on a film script in 2014 after seeing Tsai Ming-liang's film The Wayward Cloud," Sprengelmeyer explained in a statement. "The song and video were both inspired by a scene in that film where the main character sneaks into a reservoir at night, turns into a sea creature, and sings to the moon."

New Orleans drag performer Neon Burgundy stars in the clip, adding some glitter, glam and emotional depth to tired sea monster tropes. The video was produced and edited by Spregelmeyer and directed by Kaveh Nabatian, and you can watch it in the player below.

Little Scream is currently on tour with Local Natives, and you can see all of her upcoming shows here.
