Cilla Raie, 23-year-old Singer/Songwriter from North London released her first music video ever – for ‘Masterpiece‘ (produced by Joey Dyer) on Friday. The single is taken from her self-titled debut EP ‘Cilla Raie’, which has racked up over 18,000 plays on SoundCloud since it’s initial release.
Directed by Daniel ‘Musical D’ Smith, the visuals reflect the concept of emotional vulnerability and passion experienced during a past relationship, with the use of close-up shots and glitching transitions to give off an emotive vibe for its audience.
Taking inspirations from the likes of Brandy, Toni Braxton and Destiny’s Child, Cilla Raie began recording music at just 14, with veteran Grime producer DaVinche as one of her key mentors during the early stages of her music journey. Combining her love for R&B and Pop music, she delivers heartfelt lyrics with a sultry, soft tone of voice across this project.
This year will see the release of Cilla Raie’s second EP, a body of work paying homage to growing pains as a young adult, whilst she embarks on a 2017 School Tour with UK Music delivering music workshops to students across the UK.
