Grisly find: Police said Grubbs, pictured here with her baby daughter, and her boyfriend were savagely murdered
The severely decomposed bodies of a young Tennessee couple were discovered stuffed inside a closet and covered in trash over the weekend.
Investigators believe the victims are 24-year-old Preston Claybrooks Jr. and his longtime girlfriend, 23-year-old Alexandra Grubbs, both of Nashville, whose families reported them missing earlier this week.
Authorities said the identities of the bodies, which were found early Sunday, had not been confirmed due to the extent of the trauma.

An autopsy is expected to take place sometime Monday to determine the cause of death.
Nashville police are now searching for the man who leased the home where the slain couple were found, identified as 20-year-old Brandon Griswold, and his girlfriend, 21-year-old Whitney Gray. Both are wanted for questioning but neither has been named a suspect in the killings.
The bodies of Claybrooks and Grubbs were discovered at the Howe Garden Apartments in the 1900 block of Greenwood Avenue at around 2am Sunday, according to The Tennessean.
Police got a call from Claybrooks' mother Saturday morning reporting an odor of decomposition coming from a a first-floor apartment inside the housing complex. Other neighbors later said they too sensed a foul stench wafting from the unit.
The woman had gone to the apartment knowing her son had ties there. The 24-year-old and his girlfriend had been reported missing last Thursday.
Officers who responded to the scene entered the unit only to discover what has been described as a gruesome scene inside a large closet.
Police said the evidence shows the crime was ‘extremely violent’ and those responsible attempted to clean up afterwards.
Griswold and Gray, the couple wanted for questioning, are possibly traveling in the woman's 2009 Chevrolet Impala with an Oklahoma license plate 261LPO.
