U.S. GIRLS "Window Shades" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

U.S. Girls"Window Shades" (video)
American-Born/Toronto-based artist U.S. Girls recently signed with 4AD forHalf Free, and the musician also known as Meg Remy has now shared a video for the track "Window Shades."

The Slim Twig-produced song is a patchwork of sampled disco rhythms (from Gloria Ann Taylor's "Love Is a Hurting Thing"), inventive psych textures, soulful vocal lines and swooping disco strings. The accompanying video features a similarly generation-crossing update on retro source material, as a sign outside of a cabaret promises a performance from "U.S. Girls and the Marimba Queens." What we see is cleverly chopped-up footage from vintage cabarets combined with modern footage of Remy.

The video was directed by Remy, along with Cameron Mitchell. Check it out below.

Half Free will arrive on September 25. See U.S. Girls' fall tour schedule here
