Japan Underground: AKLO

AKLO is a hip-hop artist under ONE YEAR WAR MUSIC. He was born to a Mexican father and Japanese mother, spending his childhood in Mexico, and then later Tokyo, Osaka, Oita Prefecture, and New York.  In 2008 he formed a unit with Teppei Sora called "AKLO to Sora" and they released a self-titled album. In 2009 he released an internet mixtape "DJ.UWAY Presents A DAY ON THE WAY" and another in 2010 titled "2.0", with "2.0" being elected as one of the best free mixtapes on the internet by hip-hop specialist website Amebreak and Space Shower TV's "Leaders of the New Era 2010". Later on that year, he started the project BETTER HALVES with L-VOKALA and released the single "ONE WAY OUT". In 2011, AKLO won BEST OF RAPPER from men's fashion magazine WOOFIN, and he began hosting a hip-hop music program on Block fm with m-flo's Taku Takahashi called INSIDE OUT. ALKO released his first solo single on July 25th,  2012 titled "RED PILL" and his first solo album on September 5th, 2012 titled "THE PACKAGE". His influences include Master P.
