Mahalia is only 17 years old, but already she's a gifted storyteller.
With that soulful voice and a stunning way with words the prodigal talent released her debut EP 'Never Change' last year.
'Back Up Plan' is the follow up. Out via Atlantic, the semi-autobiographical tale has a tender edge, the tale of someone on the outside of the fame game, forced to look in.
Mahalia explains:
“It’s one of the first songs I wrote when I was really young and it came out of watching reality programmes on telly and really sensing that just ‘wanting to be famous’ was never going to be enough. I guess I’m also saying that as much as you need to follow your dream, there’s always a price to pay.”
