DOCTOR WHO gets comic book

*Warning: PIRATE RADIO presentation*

A series of Doctor Who comic books, all about Paul McGann's 8th Doctor, has been announced by Titan Comics...

Paul McGann's 8th Doctor is often talked about by fans as being under-used. Outside his appearances in the 1996 TV movie and The Night Of The Doctor short film from the anniversary year, he's never again been seen in the flesh (discounting that body double from the end of Day Of The Doctor).
Unfortunately, today's news doesn't change that, but it does give us another way to enjoy the 8th Doctor character outside of McGann's immense audio work for Big Finish.
If you haven't got the jist already - a series of 8th Doctor comic books is on the way, from Titan (the same publisher that has been producing print adventures for David Tennant, Matt Smith, Christopher Eccleston and Peter Capaldi's incarnations of late). It's nice to see that McGann's oft-overlooked Time Lord is getting a look in, too.
Issue 1 has been written by George Mann and drawn by Emma Vieceli. It will be on sale from Wednesday the 28th of October 2015. We've been told that this issue will mark the start of a five-part storyline. The official press bumf says this:
"Five amazing, interconnected new stories take The Doctor on a rollercoaster of threat and misadventure, as he investigates the mysteries surrounding his new companion Josie. Victorian magic shows, murderous trees, lost books, crystalline life-forms, barges in space crammed with the undead... and the grand journey all begins in a sleepy Welsh town... besieged by living paintings! Buckle up for a wild ride that embraces all the Gothic Romance and interstellar terror of the Doctor's eighth incarnation!"
It's good to know that, despite the comparative free-reign of comic books, the 8th Doctor still enjoys hanging out in Wales.
Here's some cover art that has been shared online...
Anyone else wondering if these comics will chart McGann's costume change? No, just us? Ah well.
